Do You Think That These Are The Best Solutions?

The Different Sorts Of Heart Murmur

By Owen Derwin

A heart murmur might be diagnosed by a general physician as abnormal or innocent. The latter diagnosis is usual in kids who are in good health. Cases that aren't normal are most of the time caused by many conditions. Nurses can send their patients to a specialist for further evaluation and treatment.

This condition involves a heartbeat that has additional or usual sounds. These can range from imperceptible to strong sounds. A general physician may rule them as innocent or abnormal, when he conducts a routine check up on the patient.

Innocent murmurs appear during childhood, with no apparent health problems. Apart from an unusual heartbeat, the patient does not have any symptoms. A woman may develop this condition while pregnant because of the extra blood flow that occurs during her pregnancy.

Abnormal murmurs can start by a congenital birth defect. This is often the most usual cause in children. These defects may involve the interior walls or the arteries and veins that deliver or expel the blood. Their valves may be too narrow, or they may not close properly. They may also have holes in one or both of their septums. Infants can have multiple abrasions, which probably require surgery to put right the issue.

Adults who develop murmurs might have acquired heart valve disease, which is caused by other underlying problems. They sometimes have suffered a myocardial infarction or an injury that has left scar tissue. A pulmonary disorder or severe high blood pressure might also be start of it. Hypothyroidism, stenosis, anemia, Rheumatic fever, or an infection might also be the source of the murmur.

In the event a heart murmur is found, doctors will refer their patients to a specialist for proper evaluation and treatment. The patient may undergo a chest X-ray, EKG, or echocardiography. Innocent murmurs do not require any treatment because there are no underlying reason. Treatments for abnormal cases may involve surgery, medications, and lifestyle changes, depending on the severity of the disease.
